A stolen vehicle investigation that began in Waterford has resulted in two arrests and the recovery of a large amount of suspected stolen property.
The Norfolk County OPP said an officer spotted a vehicle reported stolen in Norfolk County while patrolling Concession 12 Townsend on June 20 at about 3:20 p.m. The driver fled from police. The same vehicle was later found elsewhere in Waterford but again escaped.
The following day, Halton Regional Police located the vehicle in Oakville and arrested the driver and passenger without incident.
Police said a search of the vehicle uncovered suspected stolen property, including coin collections, military medals, passports, driver’s licences, health cards, bank cards, cheques, cell phones and other personal belongings.
Christopher Schram, 42, of Norfolk County faces numerous charges, including theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation, flight from police, possession of break-in instruments and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in a Simcoe court on June 30.
Brittany Campbell, 38, of Norfolk County, is charged with theft of a motor vehicle, possession of break-in instruments, public mischief and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. She is scheduled to appear in court on August 4.
Investigators believe some of the recovered property belongs to victims both inside and outside Norfolk County, including some thefts that may not have been reported. Anyone in Norfolk County missing similar items is asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP and reference incident RM26168866.
