Norfolk County is reminding residents about service closures and schedule changes for Canada Day.
All County administration buildings, ServiceNorfolk, libraries, museums, archives, recreation facilities, arenas, transfer stations, and Provincial Offences Court will be closed on the holiday. Housing and Social Services offices in Simcoe and Dunnville will also be closed, while Ride Norfolk will not operate.
Emergency, essential and critical services will continue as usual, including Fire and Paramedic Services and Norview Lodge.
Residents needing emergency housing support can contact the Victim Services Support Line at 1-800-264-6671.
Garbage and recycling collection will be delayed by one day. Norfolk County encourages residents to check the Recycle Coach app for updated collection schedules and reminders.
County trails and parks will remain open for public use throughout the holiday.
Residents can continue submitting non-urgent service requests online through the County’s ServiceNorfolk portal. Urgent issues involving roads, water, sewer, waste, drainage, forestry, parks or facilities should be reported by phone. By-law concerns during the closure should be directed to the OPP non-emergency line.
Norfolk County staff and council are wishing everyone a safe and happy Canada Day.
