Lynnwood Arts is giving local teens the chance to explore their creativity through a new week-long summer workshop series this August.
The Emerging Makers Summer Art Workshops will run from August 17 to 21 at the Lynnwood Arts Centre. The program is open to youth ages 14 to 17 and is designed to help participants build artistic skills, confidence, and friendships while learning from professional local artists.
Throughout the five-day program, teens will take part in a variety of hands-on workshops covering creative disciplines such as glass fusing, gelli plate printing, and other visual arts techniques. Organizers say the immersive experience will keep participants inspired while encouraging them to try new artistic styles and express their creativity.
Workshops will take place daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration is now open, with the cost set at $250 plus HST per participant. Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged.
Thanks to support from the Simcoe Lions Club, a limited number of scholarships are available for youth facing financial hardship. Lynnwood Arts says the funding is intended to ensure cost is not a barrier, allowing more young people to participate in the program and develop their creative talents.
