The Norfolk General Hospital Foundation’s annual golf tournament is happening tomorrow (June 25) at The Greens at Renton and is nearly sold out.
That was Sarah Muntz-Flowerday the Foundation’s Executive Director.
The popular fundraiser will bring golfers together to support the purchase of a new ultrasound machine for Norfolk General Hospital. The tournament follows a shorter format designed to accommodate busy schedules, featuring nine holes of golf, lunch, games, prizes and an afternoon reception.
Registration opens at 10:30 a.m. for pre-registered golfers, followed by lunch at 11 a.m. and a shotgun start at noon. After the round, participants will gather for refreshments, prize presentations and an update on projects underway at the hospital.
“We’re raising funds for a new ultrasound machine this year, and we’re excited to bring the community together again for a fun day that supports local healthcare,” said Muntz-Flowerday.
The tournament also features several unique contests, including the crowd-favourite closest-to-the-bed-pan challenge, where an old-fashioned hospital bed pan is placed about 180 yards down the fairway.
While golf spots are nearly full, members of the public can still attend and purchase tickets for the event’s prize table and fundraising activities.
To register for that final team spot, call the Foundation at (519) 426-0130, ext. 1470 or email bmansley@ngh.on.ca.
