A Haldimand County resident is facing an assault charge following an investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police in Selkirk.
Police say officers were called to a residence on Wheeler Road on June 10 at approximately 7:40 p.m. in response to a reported assault.
Following an investigation at the scene, a 76-year-old man from Selkirk was arrested and charged with one count of assault under the Criminal Code.
No additional details about the circumstances of the incident have been released by police.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on September 1, 2026.
OPP continue to remind the public that all allegations are before the courts and have not been proven.
