The Oxford County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is seeking the public’s assistance as officers investigate a series of Pride flag thefts reported across Norwich Township.
Police say several incidents were reported between June 5 and June 8, with Pride flags allegedly stolen from multiple locations throughout the community.
The reported thefts include flags taken from a school property, a place of worship, and several private residences.
Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding each incident and are working to determine whether the thefts are connected.
As part of the investigation, officers are asking residents and business owners in the area to review any available surveillance footage captured during the timeframe of the incidents.
Police believe security camera footage or witness observations could help identify those responsible.
The OPP is encouraging anyone who may have seen suspicious activity or has information related to the thefts to contact investigators.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Oxford OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips can also be provided through Crime Stoppers.
Police say updates will be released as new information becomes available.
