Students from the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board recently gathered in Burford for the annual Have A Go event, a day of adaptive track and field activities designed for students with special needs.
Organized by the board’s Special Education Department and Athletic Committee, the event encouraged students of all abilities to participate in physical activities tailored to their individual strengths. The day promoted inclusion, teamwork, physical fitness and personal achievement while giving students the opportunity to build friendships and confidence.
“The Have A Go event is a wonderful opportunity for our students to celebrate their abilities, build confidence, and experience the joy of participation and achievement,” said Sandra DeDominicis, Vice Principal of Inclusive Learning and Special Education.
Board officials said the event reflects their commitment to creating a learning environment that values dignity, understanding and respect for every student. The day concluded with participants demonstrating determination, school spirit and the courage to embrace every challenge with confidence.
