Four individuals are facing charges following a series of intimate partner violence investigations conducted by the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police over the course of two days.
Police say the first investigation began on May 29 after officers received a report of an assault that had allegedly occurred earlier in the month at a Norfolk County residence. Investigators determined that during an interaction between two individuals, one person allegedly assaulted and threatened the other, stole property, and caused injuries to animals belonging to the victim.
As a result, a 55-year-old Norfolk County resident was charged with several offences, including assault, uttering threats, theft, animal cruelty-related offences, and failing to comply with a probation order.
Later the same day, officers responded to another reported assault involving intimate partners. Police say the investigation revealed both a recent incident and an earlier alleged assault dating back to July 2025. A 44-year-old Norfolk County resident was charged with two counts of assault.
On May 30, officers responded to two additional domestic-related incidents at separate addresses in the county. One investigation resulted in a 27-year-old London resident being charged with assault and failing to comply with an undertaking. The accused remains in custody pending a court appearance.
In the fourth incident, a 35-year-old Norfolk County resident was charged with assault following an alleged altercation between two individuals.
All charges remain before the courts and have not been tested in court.
Norfolk OPP continue to remind residents that intimate partner violence can affect people of all ages and backgrounds. Police say support is available for anyone experiencing abuse or violence in a relationship.
