Haldimand Norfolk Pride Day is returning this weekend with a new location, bringing a full afternoon of celebration, community, and entertainment to Jarvis.
The annual event will take place Saturday, May 30 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Jarvis Community Centre, featuring both indoor and outdoor activities.
Pride Haldimand Norfolk Board member Nikki Campbell, reminded us that the move is part of a regular rotation between communities.
The event will include more than 45 vendors and community groups, along with live entertainment from local performers such as Honey Static and The Fishnets. Visitors can also expect a Family Fun Zone with face painting and crafts, sponsored by Art with Heart.
Campbell said one of the goals is to create a welcoming space for everyone, especially those who may not be familiar with local Pride events.
The day will also feature a stop on the Chris Paul Rainbows book tour, as well as a return appearance from performer Miss Cherry, who will host a story time session.
Campbell added the event is designed with families in mind.
Organizers say the event will follow the Walk for Alzheimer’s, which is also taking place at the same location earlier in the day, creating an opportunity for even more community engagement.
Campbell noted the strong support from local sponsors, including several education-focused organizations, plays a key role in making the event possible.
She added that events like Pride let kids and families know they are supported and welcomed in this community.
Haldimand Norfolk Pride Day is free to attend and open to all ages.
