A massive boost for Ontario’s mining sector.
The province and Agnico Eagle Mines Limited are announcing $14 billion in planned investment by 2030, including major expansion projects at Detour Lake and Upper Beaver.
The projects are expected to create up to 1,600 jobs and add nearly $5 billion to Ontario’s economy.
Minister of Energy and Mines, Stephen Lecce says it’s about keeping the investment at home.
The province says faster permit approvals and streamlined regulations are helping attract global mining investment to Ontario.
