An unusual scene unfolded in Simcoe after a disposal truck partially fell into a sinkhole, forcing the closure of a section of Norfolk Street South.
The incident left the truck stuck nose-up in a large cavity, drawing attention from passersby and prompting safety concerns.
That was Constable Andrew Gamble with the Norfolk OPP.
The road was closed between Peel Street and Victoria Street while crews responded to assess the situation and secure the area.
While details about what caused the ground to give way have not been confirmed, such incidents are often linked to underground infrastructure failures or soil erosion.
Ultimately, a crane was brought in to help remove the large vehicle.
