Norfolk County residents can begin signing up for a wide range of summer recreation programs, camps, and swimming lessons starting this week as registration officially opens for the 2026 season.
County officials say registration for summer recreation programs and aquatic activities opens today, May 5 at noon, while museum summer camp registration begins Wednesday, May 6 at 9 a.m.
This year’s recreation lineup includes weekly day camps in Simcoe, Delhi, Port Rowan, Windham Centre, and Waterford, along with outdoor adventure camps and specialty programming designed to support a variety of interests and skill development opportunities for children and youth throughout the summer.
Swimming lessons and aquatic programs will continue to play a major role in the County’s summer offerings, although residents will notice one temporary change this season. The Annaleise Carr Aquatic Centre in Simcoe will be closed for scheduled repairs and maintenance during the summer months.
Despite the closure, Norfolk County says aquatic programming will continue uninterrupted through the Delhi Kinsmen Pool, which will host swimming lessons, recreational swims, and other seasonal aquatic activities. Officials say the goal is to ensure residents across the community continue to have access to swimming opportunities and water safety programming throughout the summer.
Museum summer camps are also returning for another season, offering hands-on learning experiences at several local heritage sites. Programs will be hosted at the Delhi Tobacco Museum and Heritage Centre, the Port Dover Harbour Museum, and the Waterford Heritage and Agricultural Museum.
County staff are encouraging families to review available programs early and register as soon as possible, noting many camps and activities have limited spaces and can fill quickly.
Residents can find registration details and program information through Norfolk County’s ENCORE recreation portal, while additional information about summer events, amenities, and activities across the community is also available online through the County’s summer information page.
