The Norfolk County OPP says it is continuing to focus on proactive crime reduction efforts through targeted enforcement initiatives aimed at repeat offenders and individuals with outstanding warrants.
Police recently wrapped up a warrant enforcement campaign as part of the Offender Management Apprehension Program, commonly known as OMAP.
The initiative is designed to identify and monitor individuals considered at higher risk of ongoing criminal activity, while helping frontline officers address repeat offences and improve community safety.
According to the OPP, the recent initiative resulted in 22 warrants being executed and 18 people being arrested on outstanding warrants.
Officers also completed 13 Provincial Bail Compliance Dashboard checks during the operation.
The Provincial Bail Compliance Dashboard is used as a situational awareness and investigative tool to assist officers in monitoring individuals on release conditions.
Police say the information gathered through the system supports enforcement efforts and helps officers prioritize cases involving elevated risks to the public.
The OPP says programs like OMAP are part of a broader strategy focused on reducing crime through proactive enforcement rather than strictly reactive policing.
Officers target repeat offenders and individuals with ongoing involvement in criminal behaviour in an effort to disrupt offences before they happen.
Police say they remain committed to enhancing safety across Norfolk County through continued enforcement initiatives, compliance checks, and warrant execution efforts.
