A local community group is inviting residents to roll up their sleeves and take part in an Earth Day cleanup effort in Simcoe.
Simcoe Strong is hosting the event today (April 22nd), encouraging volunteers of all ages to help tidy up Colonel Stalker Park.
Participants are asked to gather at 9:45 a.m. in the parking lot at Aspira Cedar Crossing before heading across the street to begin the cleanup at 10 a.m.
Organizers say all supplies will be provided, including gloves, bags, water, and light snacks, making it easy for anyone to get involved.
The event also highlights a growing emphasis on collaboration within the community.
Simcoe Strong says the cleanup is being made possible through its partnership with Cedar Crossing, with both groups working together to promote environmental stewardship and local engagement.
Organizers say this is just the beginning of a larger effort to host regular cleanups throughout the year.
They are encouraging individuals, families, and local organizations to participate, noting that even a short amount of time can make a meaningful difference.
