A Norfolk County resident is facing a charge following a public intoxication incident in Simcoe earlier this week.
According to the Ontario Provincial Police, officers were called to a disturbance on Queensway East at approximately 11:23 p.m. on April 14.
Upon arrival, police located the individual involved and took them into custody without incident.
A 26-year-old from Norfolk County has been charged with being intoxicated in a public place under the Liquor Licence and Control Act.
The charge relates to behaviour in areas accessible to the public or shared spaces within residential buildings.
Police are reminding residents that public intoxication is prohibited under provincial law and can pose safety risks to both the individual and others.
They also encourage community members to seek safe alternatives and assistance when needed.
