A Norfolk County resident is facing a charge following an intimate partner violence investigation.
Members of the Ontario Provincial Police say officers were called to a Norfolk County address just after 11:20 p.m. on March 28 for a report of an assault.
Police say the incident occurred earlier that day, around 11:45 a.m., when two individuals became involved in an interaction on the property. During that encounter, investigators allege one individual assaulted the other.
No physical injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
As a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old Norfolk County resident has been arrested and charged with assault – spousal.
The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a later date.
Police are also reminding the public that support is available for those experiencing intimate partner violence. Victim Services of Haldimand-Norfolk-Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation offers assistance and can be reached through its support line.
