Several individuals are facing impaired driving charges following a series of incidents investigated by the Ontario Provincial Police across Norfolk County and Haldimand County.
In Norfolk, officers responded to two separate collisions on March 30.
The first occurred just after 8 a.m. on Church Street East in Delhi, where a sport utility vehicle left the roadway and struck a pedestrian before fleeing the scene.
Police later located the vehicle on Windham Road 12 and arrested the driver.
The thirty-nine-year-old from Mississauga has been charged with multiple offences, including impaired operation, dangerous driving, and failing to remain at the scene of a collision.
The pedestrian involved did not report any injuries.
Later that evening, officers responded to another single-vehicle collision near Lakeshore Road and Gore Road in Port Rowan.
Police located the driver nearby and, following a roadside sobriety test, took the individual into custody.
A fifty-one-year-old from Hamilton is facing several charges, including impaired driving and multiple counts of failing to comply with court orders.
No injuries were reported in that incident.
Meanwhile, in Haldimand County, two additional impaired driving arrests were made over the same period.
On March 29, officers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 6, where a 58-year-old Hamilton resident was charged with impaired driving, dangerous operation, and other offences.
The following day, March 30, police investigated a two-vehicle collision on Richard William Drive in Caledonia.
A 23-year-old from Cayuga was charged with impaired driving and having a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.
All accused individuals are scheduled to appear in court at later dates in Simcoe or Cayuga.
Police are reminding the public that impaired driving remains a serious offence and are urging anyone who suspects a driver is impaired to call 9-1-1 immediately.
