Simcoe Lions Variety Show 2023
A long-running community tradition is set to return next month as the Simcoe Lions Club prepares for its annual variety show, bringing laughter, music and local talent to the stage.
Bruce Robinson, skits director and participant, says the event has been a cornerstone of the club for decades, helping raise funds while bringing people together.
The show features a mix of comedy sketches, live music, chorus performances and solo acts, with many members taking part both on and off stage. Robinson says the comedy is built around local humour and collaboration.
Preparation begins months in advance, with Robinson helping decide which skits make the show through weekly practices and group input that shape the performance.
Performances take place April 17th and 18th at the Simcoe Composite School Lions Auditorium. Tickets are available online or at select in-person pop-up events.
