Community organizations and schools across the Grand River watershed are being encouraged to apply for funding through a conservation grant program aimed at supporting local environmental projects.
The program is being offered by the Grand River Conservation Authority in partnership with the Grand River Conservation Foundation, with funding available for both community groups and elementary schools.
Eligible community groups can receive up to $1,000 to support projects that benefit the broader community, while elementary schools can apply for up to $750 to fund schoolyard naturalization initiatives, such as planting trees, creating pollinator gardens, or enhancing outdoor learning spaces.
Officials say the program is designed to promote environmental stewardship and encourage hands-on conservation efforts at both the community and school level.
Applications must be submitted electronically by Friday, May 8, 2026, with successful applicants expected to be notified later in the month.
More details, including eligibility requirements and examples of past funded projects, are available through the GRCA website.
