The latest Friday the 13th motorcycle gathering in Port Dover turned out to be a quieter one than usual as winter weather kept many riders at home.
Snowfall moved through the region early in the day, while strong winds later made travel conditions less than ideal for motorcyclists.
As a result, the popular event saw a noticeably smaller turnout compared to many previous Friday the 13th gatherings that typically bring thousands of riders to the Lake Erie shoreline.
Despite the weather, some visitors still made the trip to Port Dover, continuing a long-standing tradition that has drawn motorcycle enthusiasts to the community for decades whenever the calendar lands on Friday the 13th.
There is still one more Friday the 13th scheduled for 2026, with the next event taking place in November. Like the March gathering, that date falls during the off-season when colder temperatures often limit the number of riders attending.
Looking ahead, the first Friday the 13th of 2027 will fall in August, a summer date that is expected to bring significantly larger crowds back to Port Dover’s downtown core.
