The Ontario Provincial Police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect connected to a shoplifting investigation in Simcoe.
Officers responded Friday, February 20 at approximately 8:56 p.m. to a reported theft in progress at a business on West Street.
Police say an unidentified female entered the store wearing a black jacket, black pants, a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, a black face covering, and carrying a black bag.
According to investigators, the suspect concealed merchandise and attempted to leave the store without paying.
When confronted by an employee, she fled the scene on foot and was last seen travelling southbound on Talbot Street South.
A photograph of the suspect has been released to assist in identification.
