One person is facing multiple charges following an attempted robbery in Simcoe.
The Ontario Provincial Police say officers, along with members of the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit, responded to a business on Queensway West at approximately 6:10 a.m. on Thursday, February 26.
Police allege that shortly after 6:00 a.m., a woman entered the business, brandished a weapon, demanded money from an employee, and attempted to steal merchandise. The attempt was unsuccessful, and the suspect fled the scene on foot.
Officers later located the individual at a residence on Queen Street North in Simcoe and took her into custody without incident.
As a result of the investigation, 25-year-old Sasha Sullivan of Norfolk County has been charged with robbery with violence, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, disguise with intent, and mischief.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
