The Long Point Region Conservation Authority has issued a watershed flood outlook, warning that rainfall combined with snowmelt could lead to increased runoff and rising water levels.
Localized flooding and ponding are possible in low-lying and poorly drained areas, particularly through Wednesday and Thursday.
River ice remains in place across much of the watershed, and officials say weakening ice could lead to movement and potential ice jams in high-risk areas such as Big Otter Creek.
Authorities are advising residents to stay away from rivers, ditches and streams, and to ensure culverts and drainage systems are clear where it is safe to do so.
