Brantford Collegiate Institute and Vocational School (BCI) is no longer in lockdown, officials confirm.
While the lockdown has been lifted, a large police presence remains on site as officers finish their investigation. Authorities say there is no ongoing threat to the area.
Earlier, Brantford Police Service (BPS) reported that the school was under lockdown following a received threat.
Staff and students remained safe throughout, and police advised that family and friends avoid the area until the situation was resolved.
A more detailed media release from BPS is expected once the investigation concludes.
Families are encouraged to review Grand Erie’s emergency planning procedures to better understand what happens during school lockdowns.
We will continue to provide updates as they become available.
