Families are being invited to celebrate Family Literacy Day at the Norfolk County Public Library’s Simcoe Branch next Saturday.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on January 24 and is being hosted in partnership with Norfolk County Recreation, Haldimand-Norfolk REACH EarlyON, and the Norfolk County Fire Department.
This year’s theme is “Make mealtime family learning time,” highlighting how everyday activities like cooking and shared meals can become learning opportunities.
The free event will feature crafts, games, storytime, science experiments using snacks, and a visit from the library’s mascot, Branches.
Organizers say the goal is to promote reading and learning in a fun, hands-on environment for families.
All ages are welcome, and no registration is required.
