Norfolk General Hospital has announced that Amanda Sonnenberg will serve as its new Vice President of Clinical Services and Chief Nursing Executive, effective February 27.
She will also hold the same role at West Haldimand General Hospital.
Sonnenberg is a registered nurse and longtime health care leader who was selected following a national recruitment process.
Raised in Norfolk County and born at NGH, she brings nearly 20 years of experience in health care, including 15 years with the hospital.
Her leadership background includes palliative care, obstetrics, community services, health information technology, and leading the COVID-19 Assessment Clinic.
Since 2022, she has served as Director of Medical, Rehabilitation, Nurse Practitioners, and Patient Flow, focusing on quality of care and patient transitions.
Sonnenberg succeeds Kim Mullins, who is retiring after more than 17 years in hospital leadership, including seven years in the vice president role.
