Norfolk County leaders met with Ontario’s Minister of Rural Affairs during the 2026 ROMA conference to discuss key issues facing rural communities.
Mayor Amy Martin, Councillor Kim Huffman, and Chief Administrative Officer Al Meneses joined Minister Lisa Thompson for the meeting, where discussions focused on strengthening rural services and building resilient communities.
In a social media post, Norfolk County said it appreciated the opportunity to share its perspectives and continue working collaboratively with the province on rural priorities. Minister Thompson echoed those sentiments, describing the meeting as productive and focused on long-term community resilience.
The ROMA conference brings together municipal leaders and provincial representatives to address challenges and opportunities facing rural Ontario.
