Six Nations Police say a drug trafficking investigation has led to the seizure of significant quantities of illicit drugs and the arrest of three individuals in Brantford.
According to police, members of the Six Nations Police Drug Enforcement Unit concluded the investigation on Wednesday (January 14).
Officers executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at a motel located on Colborne Street in Brantford.
The investigation focused on drugs allegedly being trafficked into the Six Nations Territory.
During the search, police seized approximately 122 grams of cocaine, 74 grams of fentanyl, 23 grams of methamphetamine, 87 hydromorphone pills, and 80 alprazolam (benzodiazepine) pills.
Currency, cell phones, and drug packaging materials were also recovered.
As a result of the investigation, 34-year-old Kaya Folland of Brantford has been charged with six counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000, two counts of breach of probation, and five counts of failing to comply with a release order.
Fifty-one-year-old Cory Blackey of Brantford and 37-year-old Katie Bangay of Brantford have each been charged with six counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.
Police say all three accused were held in custody pending formal bail hearings. The investigation remains closed at this time.
