Norfolk County OPP have laid charges following a mischief investigation in Simcoe.
Police say that on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at approximately 8:19 p.m., an officer on patrol observed an individual enter a business on Norfolk Street South.
While inside the establishment, the individual was seen interfering with an appliance, prompting police intervention.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident. Further investigation determined that a quantity of Canadian currency had been stolen during the incident.
As a result, a 34-year-old, who has no fixed address, has been charged with mischief for obstructing or interfering with the lawful use of property, theft under $5,000, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
The accused will appear in court at a later date.
All charges remain allegations until proven in court.
