Kent Street North in Simcoe has reopened following a police investigation that prompted a heavy OPP presence and safety advisory Tuesday evening.
Police initially closed the road between Union Street and Young Street while officers responded to an ongoing investigation at a nearby address.
Residents in the immediate area were advised to remain indoors as a precaution.
By 7:30 p.m., OPP confirmed officers had cleared from the area and the road was reopened.
Police thanked residents for their patience, noting the investigation is still ongoing.
The incident follows a weapons-related call on the same street over the weekend, which resulted in a shelter-in-place order and two people taken into custody.
No injuries were reported in either incident.
