Crime Stoppers of Haldimand & Norfolk is highlighting the real impact local residents made through anonymous tips in 2025, along with the program’s long-term success since its launch in 1988.
Crime Stoppers works to build safer neighbourhoods by bringing together the public, police, and community partners. This collaboration allows residents to take an active role in preventing and reporting crime across the region.
In 2025 alone, anonymous tips helped lead to 31 arrests and 143 charges laid. Information provided through the program also contributed to the recovery of $11,800 in stolen property and $146,198 worth of illegal narcotics. During the year, 499 new reports were started, and $3,475 in rewards was authorized for eligible tips.
Since its inception, the impact has been substantial. Crime Stoppers tips have assisted in 2,370 arrests and 7,316 charges laid, with more than $6.1 million in property recovered and over $45.5 million in narcotics seized. In total, 19,458 reports have been started, and nearly $380,000 in rewards has been authorized.
Crime Stoppers emphasizes that tipsters always remain anonymous, are never required to testify in court, and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
The non-profit, volunteer-run organization thanks local residents and businesses for more than 37 years of support. Upcoming fundraising efforts include a Boston Pizza Simcoe Fundraiser Dinner on January 20, 2026, Protect Your Identity Shredding Days, and an Annual Golf Tournament in August 2026.
