Volunteers with St. Vincent de Paul helped make the season brighter by preparing Christmas food hampers for more than 150 local residents. The hampers were packed and organized at St. Mary’s Parish Hall, with support from community volunteers and students.
Helping hands from St. Joe’s assisted with sorting and carrying hampers to recipients’ vehicles, sharing warm wishes and kindness along the way. Their efforts brought smiles to many families just days before Christmas.
Each hamper was carefully filled to provide meals throughout the holiday season. Items included coffee, hot chocolate, peanut butter, canned vegetables, pasta, sauce, cereal, soup, potatoes, milk, and a holiday ham. Volunteers also added Christmas treats like cookies or chocolate.
To help meet everyday needs, some hampers included toiletries such as toothbrushes, along with hats, socks, and winter gloves or mittens for children.
Organizers say the goal is simple: to ensure every individual and family receiving a hamper can enjoy a warm, well-stocked, and joyful Christmas.
