Haldimand County OPP have charged one individual following a domestic-related assault investigation earlier this week.
Police say officers were called to a residence in Haldimand County on December 18, at approximately 2:06 p.m. after receiving a report of an assault.
Through the investigation, officers determined that a verbal argument between two individuals escalated into a physical altercation.
Police allege a kitchen knife was involved during the incident. One person sustained minor injuries, and officers confirmed the individuals involved were known to one another.
As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old woman from Hamilton has been charged with Assault – Spousal and Assault with a Weapon. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga at a later date.
