Delhi’s Marek Vanacker was recently added to Team Canada’s selection camp ahead of the World Junior Hockey Championship and hit the ice yesterday for training.
The 19-year-old forward is coming off a strong start to the season with the Brantford Bulldogs, posting 26 goals and 15 assists in 26 OHL games.
Vanacker was selected 27th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the first round of the 2024 NHL Draft.
Head Coach Dale Hunter says one of the focuses of training camp yesterday (Tuesday) was shootouts, as you never know when you’ll need it in a tournament.
Here you can see Vanacker taking a shot.
The roster evaluations continues but Team Canada will play a preliminary game tonight in Kitchener.
They take on Sweden at 7 p.m.
