The Haldimand detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating after a threat was reported involving McKinnon Park Secondary School in Caledonia.
Police say the complaint came in around 5 p.m. on December 10, 2025, after parents became concerned about comments made in a social media group chat involving several youth.
According to investigators, a large group of teens had been exchanging insults online when one individual issued a threat serious enough to prompt notification of authorities.
OPP officers have been present at the school today as a precaution while the investigation continues.
Police are working with the Hamilton Police Service to identify the individual responsible for what they describe as a criminal offence.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Haldimand OPP at 1-888-310-1122, or leave an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.helpsolvecrime.com, where tipsters may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
