WorkCabin Films has announced that its conservation documentary Saving the Night Caller will air on PBS in spring 2026. The film, created by Norfolk County filmmaker Gregg McLachlan, continues to gain momentum following its successful run on the festival circuit. McLachlan says the project’s growing reach is thanks to “the many people who care so deeply about conservation.”
Saving the Night Caller was previously selected for the Fresh Coast Film Festival in Michigan, where it screened alongside McLachlan’s other documentary, The Birdhouse. The dual selections made WorkCabin Films one of only three Canadian teams featured, and the only one with two films showcased.
The documentary gives viewers a rare nighttime look at scientists studying the declining Eastern Whippoorwill. McLachlan hopes that bringing audiences close to the researchers’ work will inspire action and optimism.
