The Haldimand OPP is investigating after a Sport Utility Vehicle was stolen from a rural business on Highway 6 near Hagersville early Monday morning.
Police say the theft happened around 4:20 a.m. on December 2, when an unknown individual entered a white 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan and drove it off the property before anyone on-site noticed.
The OPP has confirmed that officers are actively reviewing video surveillance in hopes of identifying the person responsible and determining whether the suspect arrived on foot or in another vehicle.
The business, located just north of Hagersville, reported the incident shortly after employees arrived and discovered the SUV missing.
Investigators are urging anyone who may have been travelling on Highway 6 around the time of the theft to check their dash-camera footage for suspicious activity, including unfamiliar vehicles pulling over or idling in the area.
Police say vehicle thefts continue to be an ongoing concern across Haldimand County and encourage residents and business owners to secure vehicles, keep keys out of sight, and ensure cameras are functioning.
Anyone with information, surveillance footage, or tips related to the stolen Volkswagen Tiguan is asked to contact Haldimand OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous information can also be provided through Crime Stoppers.
