Fanshawe College has officially launched its first Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Action Plan after two years of consultation with students, employees, and community partners. The five-year plan outlines more than 100 actions across six key areas, including leadership, campus belonging, academics, student and employee experience, research, and supports for equity-deserving communities.
The goal is to remove systemic barriers and build a campus where every student and staff member feels they truly belong. Fanshawe will publicly track progress on each action through its website, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Joseph Pazzano, Director of the Centre for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, said the community has shown a strong commitment to meaningful change. “Despite uncertainty, the message I have heard most loudly is an authentic commitment to making our College a community where equity-deserving students and staff thrive.”
The plan supports Fanshawe’s long-term strategy, Fanshawe 2035, and will continue to evolve through ongoing feedback. College leaders say more than 25 per cent of the actions are already underway, marking a strong start toward a more inclusive future.
