Norfolk County is set to receive a significant boost in provincial support for critical infrastructure upgrades next year.
The Ontario government has increased the municipality’s 2026 Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF) allocation by 10 per cent, bringing the total to $6.9 million.
The OCIF program provides predictable annual funding to small and rural municipalities, enabling them to repair, upgrade, and replace essential infrastructure such as roads, bridges, culverts, water systems, and wastewater facilities.
Norfolk County officials say the increased allocation will help accelerate projects identified in its long-term asset management plan.
The funding supports long-term resilience and ensures the municipality can continue meeting the needs of residents as infrastructure ages.
