The Grand Erie District School Board has new leadership at the helm following its Annual Meeting.
Trustees elected longtime member Brian Doyle as Chair of the Board, while Brantford Trustee Susan Gibson will serve as Vice-Chair for the coming year.
Doyle, who represents Haldimand County, enters his 20th year as a Grand Erie Trustee after first being elected in 2006.
Over his nearly two decades of service, he has taken on several key governance roles, including Chair of the Finance Committee and four separate one-year terms as Vice-Chair.
He said returning to a leadership position is an honour — especially at a time when the board is preparing for the next chapter of its multi-year strategic plan.
Gibson, who represents the City of Brantford, was first elected in 2018 and has spent the last four years serving as Chair of the Board.
She said transitioning into the Vice-Chair role allows her to continue championing student achievement while supporting Doyle’s leadership.
