Norfolk General Hospital has declared a COVID-19 outbreak on its 3E Medical Unit after four patients tested positive, prompting immediate infection-control measures to protect patients, families, and staff.
The hospital says it has implemented isolation for affected and potentially exposed patients, increased cleaning and disinfection, and begun extensive contact tracing.
Symptom monitoring has been heightened, and visitor restrictions are now in effect on the unit.
Essential Care Providers may still visit after speaking with the care team.
NGH says staff are working quickly to reduce risk and prevent further transmission.
Additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
