The holiday season is set to sparkle in Jarvis this Saturday as the community comes together to celebrate the official kickoff to Jarvis Light Up 2025 — and to welcome the Coca-Cola Holiday Caravan, awarded to Jarvis after being named Canada’s Kindest Community.
Earlier this year, Jarvis became the first-ever winner of Coca-Cola’s national Kindest Community Contest, a partnership with the Community Foundations of Canada aimed at recognizing the Canadian community that goes above and beyond to make life kinder for others.
Nearly 600 communities were nominated, with thousands of kindness stories submitted, and Jarvis earned the top spot with an impressive number of heartfelt nominations per capita.
Many of those nominations highlighted the generosity, volunteerism, and spirit embodied each year at Jarvis Light Up.
Now, as part of the grand prize, the Coca-Cola Holiday Caravan is coming to town.
Residents can experience the Caravan up close from 6–8 p.m. at the corner of Highways 3 and 6, where the community will gather for the season’s first lighting.
Visitors can also meet Santa, enjoy sweet treats, and take in performances by the North Shore Highlanders, DJ Dede, and the energetic Jarvis Light Up Band.
The highlight will be the official moment the switch is flipped, transforming Jarvis into a glowing holiday wonderland for the first time this year.
In the spirit of the kindness that helped earn Jarvis its national recognition, attendees are invited to bring diapers and unwrapped toys for the Haldimand Tractor Toys, Tots & Tushies Food Bank Collection happening that night.
And for anyone who can’t make it — or wants to keep the excitement going — Jarvis Light Up will host its first-ever Facebook Live Show on Sunday at 6 p.m., sharing updates and highlights from this year’s festivities.
