The Ontario government is investing $10 million to make roads safer and prevent costly vehicle damage caused by potholes.
Through the new Pothole Prevention and Repair Program, municipalities with populations under 10,000 can apply for funding to complete critical road maintenance and repairs.
MPP Ric Bresee, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Transportation, made the announcement on Monday,
Eligible communities can receive up to $38,000 for projects aimed at improving road safety and extending the lifespan of local infrastructure.
Transportation Minister Prabmeet Sarkaria says the funding will help families travel safely and keep businesses moving. The program is part of the province’s larger $30-billion investment in highways, bridges, and roads across Ontario.
Applications for the Pothole Prevention and Repair Program are now open and will be accepted until December 12, 2025.
