A devastating two-vehicle collision near the Oxford-Norfolk County line has claimed three lives and left one person injured.
Emergency services were called to Mall Road, between Oxford Road 13 and Middletown Line, at approximately 4 p.m. on Friday, October 24, following reports of a serious crash involving an SUV and a pickup truck.
According to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), all three occupants of the SUV — residents of Princeton, aged 60, 75, and 77 — were pronounced dead after the collision. The driver was airlifted to a London hospital with life-threatening injuries but later succumbed to those injuries over the weekend.
The 27-year-old driver of the pickup truck was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.
Members of the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
Police are urging anyone with information or dash-cam footage from the area to contact the Oxford OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
This incident marks one of the most severe collisions in the region this fall and comes as police continue to warn motorists about the dangers of high-speed rural driving and distracted driving on county roads.
