Haldimand–Norfolk MP Leslyn Lewis is welcoming new federal infrastructure funding to support key local projects across the region.
Through the 2025–26 Canada Community-Building Fund, Norfolk County will receive $4.44 million and Haldimand County will receive $3.22 million. The funding will help local councils move forward with long-awaited infrastructure improvements, including roads, bridges, water and wastewater systems, and community facilities.
“These investments will help our local councils move ahead with projects that communities have been waiting for,” said Lewis, who also serves as the Conservative Shadow Minister for Infrastructure.
She added that while the funding provides much-needed support, many small and rural communities still face challenges maintaining critical infrastructure and accessing new funding opportunities.
Lewis said she will continue advocating to ensure the federal government delivers fair, accessible, and sustainable infrastructure funding for Haldimand–Norfolk and other rural regions across Canada.
