Education Minister Paul Calandra is criticizing the Grand Erie District School Board spending money on legal fees tied to a long-running trustee dispute instead of students.
In a video posted online, Calandra accused several boards of wasting taxpayer dollars, with Grand Erie topping the list.
The dispute was with the board and trustee Carol Ann Sloat.
Calandra says the situation shows why governance changes are needed to keep education dollars focused on students.
