Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a fatal collision on Highway 3 that left one woman dead and closed the busy roadway between Simcoe and Delhi on Saturday night.
The crash happened around 8:15 p.m. between Lynedoch Road and Scott Street, forcing Highway 3 to shut down in both directions for several hours.
According to OPP, the collision involved a pickup truck and an SUV. The driver of the SUV, a 45-year-old woman from Aurora, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the pickup driver sustained only minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
They are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who has dashcam footage from the area at the time to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
