Brantford Police Service has stepped in to correct widespread rumors online and in the community falsely alleging that an assault or sexual assault occurred in Cedarland Park.
Detectives confirmed in an official statement that no such incident took place.
The police are urging residents to rely only on credible sources and refrain from spreading unverified claims, especially through social media, saying rumors can cause unnecessary fear, harm reputations, and undermine public trust.
