Simcoe resident Jean Montgomery has been honoured with the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers.
For more than 30 years, she has supported youth in the Norfolk Youth Basketball Association, helping athletes build confidence and sportsmanship.
Her efforts also extend to early childhood education, youth rehabilitation, and mental health advocacy.
The Governor General of Canada presented the medal in April but was not officially released to the public until recently.
