Grand Erie Public Health (GEPH) has issued a boil water advisory for residents and businesses in White Oaks Village in Hagersville and the Nanticoke Business Park effective Thursday, September 4, until further notice.
The advisory was issued after routine testing detected the presence of bacteria in local water samples.
As a precaution, those in the affected areas are advised to boil tap water for at least one minute before using it for drinking, preparing infant formula, making juice, brushing teeth, cooking, or making ice. Bottled water may also be used as an alternative.
Officials say residents and businesses will be notified once the advisory has been lifted. In the meantime, Grand Erie Public Health has provided resources on safe water use, including detailed instructions on precautions during a boil water advisory.
